WHAT'S UP ANNAPOLIS, Annapolis, MD
Town Shakedown: Local Talents
If you haven't heard of the striking harmonic muse, Shawn Wilhite, let the buzz begin. A nationally known, award winning songwriter, Shawn has performed musical theatre, cabaret, and most recently the intimacy of jazz trios and quartets. She recorded Nightingale on the New City Records label with The Jeff Irwin Trio. She also jumps on the acoustic guitar from time to time. Her recent release Gypsy is devoted to her affection for the guitar, Spanish, pop, folk and reggae influences. A beautiful vocal range in a cabaret setting is seldom scene in our region-fortunately Shawn provides both. If you're up for the drive, you can catch her performing cabaret with Sean Lane on piano at the Grand Hyatt in Cambridge on or north at The Asean Bistro in Columbia with The Ed Myers Quartet. She can also be heard from time to time with The Rob Levit Trio at Maryland Hall in Annapolis. Visit www.shawnwilhite.com for the scoop.
