Album Notes

Sunflower Café is an upbeat acoustic collection layered with melody, lots of vocal harmony, interesting jazz guitar tracks and solos. Vocalist Shawn Wilhite and guitarist Bob Schaller have collaborated on these arrangements while bringing in Dean Haemel on tasteful drums and percussion. Sunflower Café has a warm organic feel full of summer memories encouraging us to practice an organic side of living.

Sunflower Café has new arrangements of familiar tunes from the 60’s and 70’s, two originals, “Rose” by Shawn and “House” by Jamie Larsen Thomas, a guitar and percussion solo by Bob and Dean, a narrative written by Shawn inspired by a muse with a morning sunrise, and two jazz standards Over the Rainbow and Wonderful World in a medley tribute to IZ, Israel Ka’ano iKamakawiso’ole of Hawaii.

Shawn and Bob performed together summer of 2006 at “Aspirations” on the coast of DE working on these arrangements and recorded the tunes remembering the strong singer/songwriters such as Carole King, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, and Seals and Crofts to name a few who musically influenced them growing up.

Sunflower Café is a solar community powered 100% by natural energy, music from the heart, and lots of love.

Please visit the Sunflower Café, coming back often, and recommend your fellow artists, colleagues, friends, and families.

I May Be Biased

I'm a huge Shawn Wilhite fan, ever since I heard her sing live in New York City. I have copies of all her CDs and this one is the best by far. Each CD seems to have a theme and this one id really timely. With the world filled with turmoil and fear and everyone so negative, Shawn's message of love and fulfillment is so refreshing. Her lyrics are fresh and her voice is lovely. Shawn just keeps getting better and better. Give a listen to this music, you won't regret it.
