Album Notes

It started out as a few favors between frequent band mates. A guitar track here, a vocal track there. Shortly thereafter, it became apparent that the man with the Telecaster, Wilkes, had the musical sensibilities, heart, shared influences, and the voice to bring out the best in the songwriter’s material.
Sage’s writing owes a debt of gratitude to composers like Robbie Robertson, George Harrison, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Garcia & Hunter, Neil Young, Leon Russell, Bruce Springsteen, Warren Zevon, Graham Parker, Ray Davies, and countless other icons from the Rock and Roll movement. Stir in the talent and experience of Wilkes, and what emerges is a true collaborative effort yielding a thoughtfully crafted collection of songs, a labor of love to be sure. From Country to Pop to Punk…It’s all there if you listen.
