Album Notes

Will Donato
"Portrait"

The success of smooth jazz has created an enviable niche in the competitive music market these past few years with sounds that effectively combine melodic accessibility with fresh, inventive twists. Saxophonist Will Donato, featured on Priority Records, "The Best of Contemporary Jazz Collections", brings new energy and passion to this
exciting music format.

An exciting performer and songwriter, Will Donato has a stellar list of credits and movie soundtracks to his name including Smooth Jazz stars - Steve Oliver, Steve Reid (Rippingtons)and Greg Karukas; Pop Stars - Toni Childs, Gerald Levert and Richard Marx. Will's soundtrack credits include the movie hit, Thelma & Louise, The Wedding Planner (Jennifer Lopez), and other hits on Warner Brothers Studios, Orion Pictures and New World Pictures.

Will's new release "Portrait" reflects his "signature-style" sound and energy as evidenced in his live shows and concert venues. "I had a wonderful time recording this project and truly enjoyed the collaborations with my musical friends and producers. This CD reflects the romantic spirit and melodic voice of Will's horn. "This CD was a celebration of love to my beautiful wife and the audiences that have enabled me to continue creating and performing original music."

One listen to Will Donato's "Portrait", and you'll find yourself singing similar praises for the artist and his music.

Boys, I love you, but...where's the BEEF?
author: Debora Ewing from The Village Pub, Palm Springs, CA
I am very glad I bought this album, because it helps keep you all near and dear to my heart while I am in Our Nation's Capital (blech.) HOWEVER, I find these songs a little too sweet, and I miss the funkin'Soul that I so enjoy in your live shows. I can't wait to hear "Willpower" (will...funny!!) I hope it features more vocals by Eddie (you rock!) Will, you gotta get dirty in the studio, too! It's much harder to get it onto tape, I know, but that first CD is like what you present to the girl's Mom when you pick her up on prom night. I wanna hear what goes on in the back seat, ya dig? I can't wait to see you all again.
