WAPANGO BLUES 2011
The latest release from Will Dunlap is an exercise in Texas/Americana music. Infectious rhythms with bluesy and Latin overtones dominate Will’s sixth cd offering as a solo artist. Will brought in percussionist Jorge DeArmas and Jazz/Gospel singer extraordinaire Timothy Charles Curry early on during the recording process and the rest is history. With songs like: Pretty Little Woman, When I’m somebody and What happened to the A? Will has produced his best work yet. This record has a unique baritone guitar oriented sound! What is a Wapango and what is a baritone guitar? The Wapango is a dance from central Mexico and the Baritone guitar is a cross between a bass and a guitar. It’s because of is lower voice and amazing tone the Will has adapted his writing to this instrument.
With the mixing skills of producer David Valley and the input of great guest artists like Timothy Curry, Jessica Shepherd and Alex Morales the songs really speak to the listener.

Will Dunlap is one of the best songwriters I've ever heard and one day he will be discovered by others for the great writer he is. He is able to convey poignant stories through his songs. He has great ballads and rockers. He also has songs that are hard to fit into a certain genre, but they're all good. I highly recommend checking out all of his CD's. "When I'm Somebody", "Hard Headed Man", and "Otra Vez" are truly great songs, along with many others. Keep up the great work Will and Keep Your Dreams!
