ABOUT WILL FRANZ:
Will Franz is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter whose music includes very listenable but introspective original works that center around classic guitar and pop accompaniments and his distinctive voice. His influences draw on a range of artists from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and James Taylor to Nirvana, Coldplay, Iron and Wine, and John Mayer. In early 2011 Will showcased in Nashville for music industry representatives. He recently returned to Nashville and cut this 5-song CD produced by Multi Tone Musik, a dynamic young production team of Nathan Walters and Gabe Combs. As his songs tell a story and invoke strong feelings and moods in his listeners, Will is pursuing avenues to put his music into television and movies.
SWEET AUBADE LINER NOTES:
Webster’s defines “Aubade” as “a song or poem greeting the dawn.” Sweet Aubade is just that, a set of romantic and sometimes tortured expressions of what someone in love might feel as they awake caught between the dreams or nightmares of loves past and the promise of what the dawning day promises. Will Franz has brilliantly captured those moments that we’ve all felt in Sweet Aubade.
Track 1: I Don’t Want to Leave: Will’s pleading vocals remind us of those desperate moments when you know you have to leave, but aren’t quite sure how you’ll handle the loss of your lover’s touch.
Track 2: I Can’t: This is the song about when you just can’t believe or accept that it’s over. Nothing makes sense. When did things change? Will sets the tone on his Stratocaster and the tension and angst in this song only partially release in the choruses of “I Can’t…..”
Track 3: And Love You All the Time: Will’s simple guitar hook lures you into this happy love song where all sorts of promises are made to the one you love with the foregone conclusion of all-time never ending love and dedication.
Track 4: The Last Romance: A light and “beachy” little romp about getting lost in a beautiful and hopefully endless moment of perfection. Will’s whistles capture the carefree feeling and pure joy of that timeless trip where nothing else is remembered or matters.
Track 5: Trapped in the Attic: A song about pure mental torture and being "trapped" as you beg for help from that one person who can break you out and save you from yourself.
