Hailing from Nashville, but nothing like your typical Nashville songwriter, Christopher Williams is a songwriter, storyteller, and entertainer - offering songs that are honest and confessional, yet never overbearing, and performances that engage audiences with an appealing mix of intense passion and humor. With "lush guitar work, and sweet soaring vocals," (Boston Phoenix) punctuated by the percussive vulnerability of a single djembe hand drum, Williams is a "hard-touring singer-songwriter and a master at spreading his personal energy out into a live audience." (Madison Isthmus) Touring nonstop nationally for the last seven years at a pace of more than 120 shows a year, Williams has built a faithful following of listeners around the country and independently sold more than 22,000 records. He just finished touring with Grammy Award winning band Jars of Clay, who he opened for as well as played percussion with, including their mainstage performance at the incredible Live 8 concert in Philadelphia in July. And Williams' newest release, "When I Was Everything," his most moving and accessible studio record to date, has been chosen by Performing Songwriter Magazine as a top independent project and hailed by the Detroit Weekly as an "evocative synthesis of pop, blues and gospel, married to emotionally resonant lyrics."

Refreshing, insightful and sincere
author: Scott Stilwell
It seems every year I try and find a Christmas album that won't be a boring re-hash of Christmas favorites and will bring a warm, meditative Christmas spirit. Thanks to Christopher Williams, I found it! "Unbroken Song" combines nine traditional Christmas songs with one hymn ("In Christ Alone") that is a refreshing collection of Christmas works. Williams brings his unconventional style and laid back vocals to a re-working of some of our beloved Christmas favorites. This ten song disc (plus one bonus track) even visits some of the less traditional pieces that rarely lurk on a Time/Life compilation, including "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" and "Lo, How a Rose E're Blooming." Truthfully, this album may take you a couple of listens to get the feel for it, because, thank God, it is not the usual offering of recycled glop that gets pushed out about this time every year. It is sincere, warm and different - making this Christmas and the ones to come a little more special.
