A blissful aural 'happening' and literary experience

Hey Hey Hayward: Just went through a first 'reading(?)' of "Another Sailor's Dream". Feels almost as much like a literary experience as a blissful aural 'happening':
- Woody Guthrie, Huddie Ledbetter, and Nick Drake are smilin' in Heaven. Chet Baker tells them this record is even cool enough for him….now that's Cool.
- Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen are getting together to discuss this record over coffee.
- Flannery O'Conner knows she can't describe textural landscapes like this.
- Tom Waits is quoted as saying "Now that's the voice I wanted God to give ME!"
- Leonard Cohen went through two packs of smokes listening to this...nearly smiling once...wow!
- Lucinda Williams wants to have your baby...she started the hormone treatments and will be ovulating shortly.
- Van Morrison wants to kick your ass. He hates it when someone can create something as gifted as his works.
I can't find a flaw…yet...and I'm listening carefully.

Ahhh, where to start? The exquisite gruffness of a manly voice that belies the strip of a lad who appears on the photographs? The moving, intelligent storytelling, from which “Doctors” and “Problems with Hemingway” stand out – but only just – from the crowd? In truth, its hard to put it into words; this is a fantastic record, one that’s a treat from start to finish. On first listen, the cover of Thunder Road strikes a jarring note; when your songs are as good as Hayward’s there seems no need to walk in another’s shoes, but several goes later and it melds in seamlessly. You’ll like this.
