Album Notes

Asheville, North Carolina based recording artist, Matt Williams, has released four original albums in his efforts to reach listeners with his own brand of world-conscious Folk/Rock/Jazz/Pop.

Because of his varying approaches to music, Matt's live shows have remained variety-filled and continually interesting for fans that have followed his career. Using the art of live loop-sampling, Matt layers the colors of his full array of string instruments (guitars, violins, mandolin, lap-slide, and bass) alongside various percussion elements (guitar percussion, hand drums, bells and shakers) to create the surprisingly-thick sound of his solo performances. Above this symphony rises a tenor voice, honest and intimate, yet soulful at all the right moments.

His latest release, "Particles - Volume 1" (2007), boasts contrasting tunes of mass and simplicity, preaching the album's concept that "All of us are ONE" while his 2005 effort, "Your Last Make-Believe", is just a reminder to keep dreams alive.

Coming in 2009, his awaiteddebut release on Mended Heart Records, "Symphonies In Sea"; A tale of woman's ocean-like essence and her moonman's struggles to rhythm her ever-changing waves. A return to marketability, the upcoming album promises to be a listener's record. However, enlisting the stylings of Asheville's most talented Jazz and Funk players, this one will also be sure to turn the heads of even the best musicians.
