Album Notes

This is the soundtrack to Everett Lewis' film about a heated, chance encounter that becomes a brief, intense, and highly charged affair. Simple and dark piano themes are contrasted with brighter, delicate strains from the acoustic guitar. Both are set against brooding electric guitar and synthetic 'texture-beds' which mirror the hazy world of drugs and sex which is inhabited by one of the characters. The soundtrack also contains some techno, one down-tempo song with sampled vocals, and two previously unreleased bonus tracks from Everett Lewis' 2005 film, "Faqs." Artist Rene Reyes is featured on guitars throughout, and on vocals on one song. Artist Allan Louis is featured on the song, "Wonderland" from "Faqs."
One review:
"'Lucky Bastard' also benefits from a thoughtful, melancholy score by William V. Malpede. Malpede's gentle soundscape of sonatas and lullabies is rich and evocative, creating a wonderful...point of emotional entry for the audience."
