In 1985 Willie Wilson purchased his first professional synthesizer. This was the beginning of Willie’s musical odyssey as a composer and instrumental jazz keyboard artist. He continued to study music composition and theory while staying current with the latest trends in synthesizer technology and recording. Willie’s mastery of synthesizers coupled with the revolution of digital music is profoundly heard throughout his music. “As a musician, my goal is not to simply display talent, but to render to my audience a gift from my heart”.

As if his love for keyboards was not enough, Willie discovered a new love – the saxophone. This love grew out of a desire on Willie’s part to complement his keyboard compositions and added another dimension to his music, thus, expanding his keyboard compositions and melody writing. His new cd “Love Thy Neighbor” reflects this sax/keyboard union. Willie’s soprano sax and keyboard solos run smoothly throughout this new release. This music is definitely a pleasure to hear. Willie's style of music will remind you of such smooth jazz artists as Kirk Whalum, Boney James and Ben Tankard.

In Willie's new smooth jazz release Love Thy Neighbor he brings together a collage of different music textures. Willie uses a variety of styles and tempos of music to compile this new project. This CD moves from the world of contemporary drumbeats, intertwined with smooth jazz soprano sax and keyboard synths. These harmonies plus solo sax and piano lines is the type of music that that does not get in the way, of enjoying the music. This is a refreshing artist in the ever-evolving world of smooth jazz music. If you enjoy listening to original smooth jazz music, with an upbeat flare, this cd needs to be on your music buy list.
