Album Notes

Several years in the making, the debut self titled CD from San Francisco bay area female harmonic pop/ sunshine folk duo Willow Willow was finally released in may '07

Singer/songwriters Miranda Zeiger and Jessica Vohs began vocalizing together not long after becoming best friends in kindergarden. After 20+ years, this long and intense bond gives them a musical blend not unlike the magic that only siblings can create (a la the Everly Bros, the Watersons, Shirley & Dolly Collins, the Moore Bros, et al) & recalls the halcyon days of the Mamas & Papas, Wendy & Bonnie, Shelagh McDonald and Bridget St John.

Miranda & Jessica have spent the better part of the past 5 years performing live, with only their voices and Miranda's acoustic guitar to support them.

Now, they emerge from the studio where their album, though still fairly sparse finds their lovely weaving, intertwined vocal harmonies and plaintive acoustic guitars joined by a subtle Pentangle-ish rhythm section provided by Josh Miller (The Meek) & Paul Burkhart (Mover) with guests Alissa Anderson of Vetiver on cello, Helene Renaut (Beam) on violin, SF pop icon Bart Davenport (Honeycut, Kinetics, Loved Ones) on guitar, long time Mark Eitzel sideman Marc Capelle on keyboards & flugelhorn & MC Taylor (Court and Spark) on mandolin, resulting in a sound that could easily be mistaken for a 1971 Joe Boyd/ Witchseason production.

Produced and recorded by Monte Vallier- known for his work with American Music Club, Swell & Jet Black Crayon.

It's timeless music- with a fresh and modern sound mixed with the tradition of ballads, english folk music & 60s pop sensibilites.

This has to be one of the most soothing and touching albums I have heard. It takes me to another time, another place where the memories flood me. Only Bebel Gilberto does that to me sometimes.
