Album Notes

The Will Patton Ensemble has been playing to enthusiastic audiences in the States and abroad for 8 years now. Their unique blend of Gypsy style jazz and musette and Brasilian choros and sambas, with many original compositions in these styles appeal to a wide base of fans. Their two earlier CDs, "Peripherique" and "Latitudes and Departures" were both selected as top 10 releases of the year in their native Vermont. This new cd features stunning contributions by guest artists on flute, accordion and clarinet. Three of the tunes were recorded in Paris and feature the legendary gypsy guitarist Ninine Garcia, long a staple of the shrine of gypsy jazz in Paris, Chope des Puces. With this recording the Ensemble has set a new standard for mandolin-led acoustic world music.
