Album Notes

Using his pseudonym, Wilson Lake, English Teacher and father of two, Tom Jackson delivers soulful musical memories of his youth at his family's cottage in Michigan. With his band, The Rock Bass, Jackson rambles and dances through his thematic CD and live performances with songs that promote real and imaginary outdoor adventures. The mission of Wilson Lake and the Rock Bass is to get kids and their families off the couch and away from the TV or computer, and get them dancing, singing, and exploring the "great outdoors."
Jackson, who has thirteen years of performance experience with the Toledo, OH rock band Driftwood Whale, leads audiences through fun, sing-a-long dance parties with his own brand of rock-n-roll which he labels "Adventure Rock." The idea of Wilson Lake and the Rock Bass came during an october evening around a campfire with his wife and two children. Jackson was singing old folk songs and after singing the Dan Zanes song "Night Owl," he decided to write a few of his own songs inspired by the natural surroundings.
The live performances are fun and interactive. At some shows, audience members may find an art and craft table where they can color pictures of Wilson and his friends, or make a musical instrument of their own. The really fortunate concert goers may attend a show where they can help Wilson whip up a batch of his famous trail mix for a post concert snack.
On the CD, Tom is joined by his father-in-law and drummer,"Dynamite" Don Staczek who is best known as the original drummer of the 1950's-60's group Johnny and the Hurricanes. Also performing on the CD is the electrifying and fun, Sandy Skala, who is also a teacher and mother of three children.
