North Carolina based bluegrass band The Wind Riders bring years of musical experience to the table with hard driving rhythms and soulful vocal harmonies. The band consist of Steve Bradshaw on lead and rhythm guitar, Wayne Sowers on banjo, Toby Watkins on bass and Gabriel Wiseman on mandolin. The Wind Riders have been playing festivals and shows for several years now and their self titled debut album reflects the North Carolina bluegrass sound everyone loves. Dear friend of the band John Shuffler, who played with Ralph and Carter Stanley wrote the liner notes for this first recording effort, stating “You will love the Wind Rider Boys and their music.”
Steve Bradshaw sings lead and harmony vocals and has played with many well known groups in the past including The Stetson Band, Whiskey River, and Mac Wiseman.
Wayne Sowers is a banjo virtuoso and has played in the past with the likes of John Shuffler, Jim Shumate, and Bill Monroe.
Toby Watkins sings lead and harmony vocals while holding the rhythm section together with his impeccable bass playing.
Gabriel Wiseman sings lead and tenor vocals with the group and holds down the mandolin duties of the band. Gabriel comes from a long line of well known bluegrass musicians including his father David Wiseman as well as other family musicians including Billy Constable, Lulla Bell and Scotty Wiseman, and Mac Wiseman. Gabriel also endorses and plays Eastman Mandolins.
The Wind Riders are a powerful bluegrass force not to be missed.

He loves the cd. The sound system is great on this. You can distingish each instrument and it sounds wonderful. A Great choice. Just wish we could hear them in person again. They play too far away for us to follow them.

Wonderful example of North Carolina Bluegrass Today!
author: Japan Considered Podcast
The Wind Riders will renew your faith in 21st Century music. From North Carolina, where they really know how bluegrass should sound, this group is on its way to national and international fame. Get to hear them while you can still afford the tickets! Each member of the group combines technical musical skill with that impossible-to-define "sense" of the music. Those of us who live too far to go hear them live on a regular basis can only hope that this is just the first of many more albums.
