The Winsome Griffles play a sincere, often humorous mix of Americana, Southern, and Cowboy music, giving a twist to traditional music. Their debut CD "Meet the Griffles" features "Your New Stupid Boyfriend," "Gay Cruise," and "Birthday Party Clown." The San Francisco Bay Times says "For anyone who was ever scared by clowns, this song would put you over the edge."
Larry-Bob Griffle's mother nagged him throughout childhood to practice piano, and now look what he's doing! Larry accompanied Vaginal Davis and Reginald Lamar. He performed extensively with Larry, Hall and Jack in Bay Area venues and in Los Angeles at Bricktops, The Parlour Club, and Little Pedro's. And he published the queer zine Holy Titclamps.
Jack Griffle aka Jack Curtis Dubowsky played bass, guitar, keyboards, and sang with queer music footnotes Diazepam Nights and Helot Revolt. Jack toiled in recording studios for years, assisting acts from Kiss to Megadeth to Van Dyke Parks, eventually producing Glen Meadmore and The Virgin-Whore Complex. Picking up a Master of Music degree, Jack composes scores for television and film, including That Man Peter Berlin. A winner of the Momus karaoke parody competition, his version of "Mr Jones" appears on "Stars Forever".
Serbie Griffles aka Stark Raving Brad has been annoying local and national audiences since 1985. A founding father of his own self-titled musical extravaganza, he has also been a member of the Marginal Prophets and Undercover S.K.A. He's written extensively for DRUM! and Zero magazines, and is the author of such august zines as GQ (Gerbils Quarterly) and Luminous Moments. He frequently performs with LA's madcap MUTAYTOR.
