Album Notes
Sweden's power metal kings are back with their third hard striking album, simply titled Winterlong. Heavier and more aggressive than ever, the group are now ready for bigger things. Guitar whiz Thorbjorn Englund and classy vocalist Mikael Holm are joined by the Italian "God of the Keyboards" Mistheria for this mighty release. Features amazing, double bass drum driven tracks such as "Oblivion", "The Priest" and "Ten Digits Of The Future", as well as the incredible solo/instrumental track "Bloodshred", which also features guest guitarist Payre Kankanranta. Short, cinematic, interlude instrumental tracks include "The End Of The Longest Winter" and "A Vision Of The Wolf". Band leader Englund is also a member of Star Queen, another fine band on Lion Music's roster.

Solid power metal
Very good guitar and overall singing and musicianship. Very different than the "Metal Technology" cd which was mostly a solo project of the guitarist (but that cd is very good too). Seems like a heavier version of Yngwie Malmsteem type cd's sometimes but not a clone either. Overall pretty good if you like this style of metal.
