Shadow

by Winterun

Mountainous alternative riffage from antipodean groovesters. A superb, unstoppable juggernaut where the guitars are tar-thick and the grooves positively subterranean. KKKK – Kerrang! (UK)

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With almost 10 years of heavy grooves under their belt, Melbourne four-piece WINTERUN are back with a new blistering E.P in 2010. Following on from the success of ‘Into the Underground' (2008) and 'Welcome to…' (2006) the new recording, SHADOW, features three brand new tracks as well as a pair re-worked live favorites.

Tracked at the infamous Head Gap studios in Preston and mixed and mastered by Dav Byrne (Agonyhmn, Terrorust) 'SHADOW' breathes new life into the WINTERUN machine in more ways than one. Recent additions to the Winterun clan, Matt Taylor on Bass and Arron Gillet on Harmonica, have pushed the band in a heavier, catchier and more blues-ridden direction. With new tracks 'Tomahawk', 'Shadow' and '8 X 10' already proving themselves live, this release captures a band hitting it’s peak, and pretty happy about it too!

Through 2010-11 Winterun will continue their relentless live presence, which has so far has seen them headline nationwide and support some of Australia’s finest rock bands including Rocket Science, The Butterfly Effect, The Angels, Peeping Tom, Mammal, Rollerball, Fort and Dreadnaught.

Full of new blood, groove, hooks and a heavier-than-ever rhythm section ‘Shadow’ will be the precursor to the band's forth Full-length release scheduled for early 2011.
