Album Notes

Wire to Wire is the self titled debut CD from this Washington, D.C. based instrumental power rock trio.

Formed in early 2003 by guitarist/songwriter Chris Poindexter as a vehicle to record new original music, the "Project" quickly elevated into a "BAND" with the addition of the powerhouse rhythm section consisting of bassist Matt Hilferty and drummer Rodd Heiden. The chemistry was immediate and explosive!

Fast forward to late 2003. Fine tuned and firing on all cylinders, Wire to Wire entered the studio to record the 14 cut disc. Strong on material, the band's versatility shines with styles ranging from hard rock (Meltdown) to funk (Sink or Swim) to reggae (Can You Dig It?) to blues (Set in Stone) to ballads (A Little Down), all wrapped up in masterfully tight performances. "The emphasis from day one has been on the songwriting and arrangements", says Poindexter, "We all get a chance to stretch out as musicians, but as a band we're about melody, hooks and tones"!

Armed with their aggressively unique sound, 2005 sees the group flexing their musical muscle by touring extensively and once again, in the studio mixing their new 6 song EP "No Man's Land", to be released in 2009.

The sky holds no limits for this group.

This cd is one of my top favorites to listen to in the car during a trip, or while doing homework, and it is truly like therapy! I love the fact that they don't stick to one sound, and there for you can get energized by the heavy rock, or chilled down with smooth guitar licks like in "Can you dig it?". If you're a fan of Joe Satriani, Van Halen, or Steve Vai, get the cd that rolls it all into one!
