Album Notes

Wishing Chair is the duo of songwriter guitarist Kiya Heartwood and songwriter multi- instrumentalist Miriam Davidson

The Kentucky based songwriters deliver recordings full of passion, energy, and power.

The themes of the songs are brave explorations into everything from urban sprawl to lasting love. This band walks with its feet planted firmly in the living tradition while adding the best influences of contemporary and roots music.

Acoustic guitars, mandolin, accordion and strong vocals mark this band as a force to reckon with.

Wishing Chair won Best New Folk Song for 2001 and has been nominated for a Just Folks Award for Best Folk Album for their second CD, Undisputed Country and for Will Harbut.
They have been selected twice by Performing Songwriter's DIY column for Undisputed Country and Will Harbut.

Will Harbut is recieving airplay all over the country and Europe on College, Americana, and AAA stations. The bands name comes from a rock formation in Northern Ireland where it is said, if you sit and make a wish, your dreams come true.

Wishing Chair is doing just that!
