Album Notes

Released September 26th, 2009, White Trash Voodoo was recorded, produced, mixed, & mastered by Alex Kirt in a small, rotten, rented house in rural Southern Illinois. The makeshift studio was heated with kerosene stoves, a perfect setting for this darkly insightful, hauntingly introspective masterpiece of tales, partially inspired by the ominous shadow of Hugh DeNeal's imminent incarceration at Leavenworth Federal Prison. This is the band's 6th studio album. The album was recorded when the band was at their peak as a touring act. Hugh Deneal, Alex Kirt, Dan Goett, and Greg Edwards were the band's best lineup in their 10 year history. The songs are packed full of emotion, wildly self-destructive lyrics, brilliantly twisted together with masterfully played rural instrumental stylings. Featuring instruments such as the pump organ, hurdy gurdy, electric slide guitar, harmonica, lap steel, banjo, mandolin, acoustic guitars, washboards, suitcase kick drum, and Greg Edward's hybrid bass (a customized bass that sounds both electric AND a lot like an upright). With album cover artwork hand illustrated by Madame Talbot.
