notes

Wooden Angel is a band of songwriters from San Diego whose music is a blend of folk, rock and pop with an emphasis on vocal harmony. We are-

Cici Porter
Guitarist, songwriter and lead singer with the highly acclaimed Bordertown band. With her beautiful voice and her honest, open stage presence, Cici switches gears effortlessly between energetic pop and sensitive folk.

"In Porter, the group has a charismatic front woman, whose songs compare with those of Rickie Lee Jones and Laura Nyro."
George Varga, San Diego Tribune

Wayne Nelson
Bass player, singer and songwriter whose career experience includes recording and touring with Jim Messina, Kenny Loggins, Glen Frey, Christopher Cross, and The Little River Band.

"Nelson drives the bottom end of LRB, ranging from lyrical fretless to thunder thumping bass guitar."
Sandy Vance, New York Times

Larry Groupé
Keyboardist and film composer, Larry scored the Academy Award nominated film, "The Contender". A member and producer of the Bordertown band, he has recently collaborated with the rock band Yes on their newest album and is currently composing the music for "The Mind of the Married Man" on HBO.

"Larry's composing skills grab a movie by it's balls and turn it into an artistic endeavor beyond anything one could have previously conceived of."
Rod Lurie, Director of "The Contender"

David Beldock
Guitarist, singer, award-winning songwriter and member of the Bordertown band. A high energy performer who has played and toured with various bands here and abroad, his style has been aptly called "acoustic thrash".

"Beldock pushes the rhythmic wagon with some of the most cracklin' country-jazz solos and fills you'll hear anywhere."
John D'Agostino, LA Times

with

Duncan Moore
San Diego's premier drummer, Duncan can always be found in the studio and on stage with Southern California's finest bands. From blues to jazz, folk to rock, he covers all styles with perfection and grace.

"The highlight of the set was Moore's drumming- powerful and creative, the perfect foundation for solos and vocals."
Todd Mitchell, Modern Drummer
