Dark. Emotional. Aggressive. Melodic. The perfect mixture of the melancholic electronic sound of Gothic and Industrial with the heavy and groovy sound of Nu Metal. This is the album for those looking for the evolution of Evanescence's sound.

Album Notes

The long awaited followup to wooDLawn's 2000 debut, "Save My Soul," has arrived. Mixing elements from the Gothic, Industrial, Metal, and Rock scenes "Sliver" further develops the sound popularized by the likes of Evanescence and Within Temptation.

In 2003, wooDLawn released a promo-appetite-whetting CD Single "Sunlight" to rave reviews, and although it's been a long road since then, "Sliver" lives up to the promise and expectation from "Sunlight" and delivers even more.

For fans of heavy and electronic music, "Sliver" is a must.

About the band: wooDLawn are unique in the Gothic scene--all at once they're electronic, heavy, groovy, melodic, melancholy, and twisted. The songs drive and make you want to dance, sway, and trace, but are at the same time are melodic and memorable. wooDLawn have toured Europe extensively (including Wave-Gothic Treff in Leipzig and CastleRock Muehlheim) and have played as support for some of Germany's biggest Goth/Heavy acts like Tanzwud, Subway to Sally, Megaherz, and Die Happy and even for Americans The Crux Shadows.

Tina Braig - vocals

Really great disk for fans of modern metal!

If you like industrial-influenced metal (I do), Sliver needs to be in your collection! It takes you on a dreamy, candle-lit ride through shadowy and brooding places. The vocals are clear and evocative, carried along by heavy guitar and bass rhythms inside a techno-blender of synthetic sound. My favorite tracks after "And You Run" would be "Dancing Queen" and "Here Comes Your Fear". Well worth picking up!
