This is music for everyone and anyone and its message comes through clearly and consistently. Witness "Much MoreTo Say", a tribute to the late pianist James Williams. It is a plaintive and eloquent statement told in warm colors. Witt's solo achieves a direct connection to the listener, giving one the impression of a recitation. Counterbalance this with the fiery tempos and soaring improvisations of "Childlike", "Under the Wire", "Out of the Box" and "Matching Game", the soulful bluesiness of the Randy Brecker's composition "Dirty Dogs", the placidity of "Before The Rain" and the introspection of "Song Without Words".
