ABOUT WOODY WOODHAM
In kindergarten my teacher asked if anyone could write a song. Suzie did. I figured if this is what Suzie liked, then I would write a song too. Thus, I wrote my first song. In high school I was hitch hiking to a hippie love in when I fell out of a car. As a result of that, I was on crutches for 3 years. I spent a lot of time then just writing songs. After high school, I started playing at church. I formed the original Digits. Our most famous gig was opening for the Dead Kennedy's at the Cuckoos Nest in Costa Mesa, Ca. back in 79 (or maybe it was early in 80). We were a new wave band. A lot of our fans were roughed up that night. After Digits, I became a barber and wrote a book called, Cut Hair at Home Like a Pro. In the 90s, I couldn't resist forming Rebel Romantic. Our song, Philip T. Kramer, about the missing Iron Butterfly bass player turned rocket scientist, was used on Leeza Gibbons TV Show. Rick Ruben (American Records) actually sent an A&R guy out to see us when we did an open mic at McCabes Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, Ca. In June 2006 I was a musical guest on NPR's Folk Sessions Live and had the opportunity to sing some of my songs live on the radio. I also performed a few songs live at the Granite Peaks Folk Concert series in my new hometown of Prescott, Arizona. These days, all my favorite rock stars are dead. I'LL BE A CORPSE BEFORE I EVER GIVE UP creating music!!!!!!! Recently, mid 2007, Scotskid (video director) and I were guests on NPR's Folk Sessions radio program hosted by Alexa MacDonald. We talked a lot about our soon to be released project, the video for "Doing Business with a Gun". It was a lot of fun.
