Featuring a host of top-drawer artists including Grammy Award winner John-Carlos Perea, acclaimed Jazz composer Marcus Shelby, virtuoso violinist/composer Colm Ó Riain, award-winning poets Pireeni Sundaralingam and Ilya Kaminsky, Indian Roma musician extraordinaire Oliver Rajamani, beatboxer phenom Kid Beyond and many other fine performers, "Bridge Across the Blue" is a profoundly beautiful take on modern America.
Forging new links between Native American chant and jazz, Aztec blessing ways and African blues, and a diverse range of poetry and music from different genres, this CD explores the connections between the voices and metaphors of these United States - what emerges is a striking new picture of America and a joyous celebration for the 21st century.

The artists use spoken word brilliantly, savoring the words, bringing out their sound and beauty to maximum effect. I very much liked how artists of different cultures and races interacted with each other, showing what they had in common, no matter how different they might seem at first glance.Because it is a bridge, and because it is such an effective bridge between many kinds of people, Irish, Lakota, Tamal, it is a public service. This CD is a labor of love on the part of the artists, and it shows in the compelling and undeniable invitation these spoken words poems give us to connect with each other.
