Album Notes

This is the debut long-player from Los Angeles's The World Record, following 2004's V.I.P.E.P. and 2005's S.M.D.E.P.

Aquarium Drunkard says: "Sure, name checking a band as the West coast heir apparent to Big Star is a bold statement, brave in fact, but that's exactly how I've been hailing The World Record of late. I didn't catch the bands live act until late '07, but their 2006 long player Guitars Forever would have most likely made my best of 2006 list had I been hip to them at the time. Power-Pop enthusiasts take note, this LP is the sugar sweet from top to bottom."

The World Record ambassadors:
Andy Creighton
Aaron Ballard
Sam Fowles
Evan Way

You'll also hear:
Ted Schumacher on trumpet (tracks 1 & 3)
Will Courtney on harmony vocals and guitar (track 3)
Randy Guss on drums (track 1)

To be thorough, you should definitely look into The Parson Readheads, which is a band Evan, Sam, and Aaron play in and is totally awesome. Also please check out Andy & Aaron's pre-World Record solo efforts, available at theworldrecord.net. Definitely.

Other related bands include:

Annie Hayden (mergerecords.com)
Brothers and Sisters (thebrothersandsisters.com)
Phat Cat Swinger (myspace.com/phatcatswinger)
Champipple (myspace.com/champipple)

Randy's previous efforts are to be found under "Toad the Wet Sprocket", available anywhere fine music is purveyed, including that record store down the street that just closed.

So have a listen! If you don't like what you hear, we'll refund the time you spent listening. The memories you can keep free of charge.

Also, drop by theworldrecord.net sometime.

Love,
The World Record
