"Your music is beautiful!" Love, Mike S. The Waterboys.
"The Beast Within (Swallow Falls & The Afanc)" opens with and is laced throughout with a flute that Jethro Tull would envy and is accompanied by what sounds like a primal and well-traveled bodhran. Gnostic folk fusions merging with classical influence and integrating ancient wisdoms with the energy of modern composition, thinking and technology. We chose the World Tree as a symbol with meaning shared across the myriad cultures of the world. This is a reflection of the music we are writing - we aim to fuse instruments and styles of the globe transcending national limits, space and time.
"Hello from Amsterdam World Tree... blissful and so enchanting. Cantebury music so lovely. Welcome to where our worlds branches meet..."
"...congratulations on your excellent CD!" Eric Swanopoel author of "Saving The World & Being Happy...".
"Wonderful arrangements and voice... (I love the outfits as well)"... Alquimia.
"...ancient mystical and pagan overtones..."
"Your voice is a delight and the music is so soothing. Being half Irish and very aware of my ancient roots and in any case interested in history, I appreciate the musicianship..."
"...transports me to the time and place that inhabits the pre-Raphaelite paintings hanging on my bedroom walls including: “Godspeed” and “The Accolade” by Edmund Blair Leighton, “Fair Rosamund” by John William Waterhouse, “Romeo and Juliet” and “La Belle Dame Sans Merci” by Sir Frank Dicksee, “The Meeting on the Turret Stairs” by Fredrick William Burton and “Aucassin and Nicolette” by Marianne Stokes".
World Tree is currently performing with John (composition, guitars and keyboard/virtual instruments) & Gretchen (voice, lyrics and melodies), John Howitt (Basses and guitars), Pete Lowe (Flute, Alto Flute and Soprano Sax) and Ade Powell (Djembe, Dubaracg, drums and general percussion). Andy Young (Rhythm of Blues) has also laid down some guitar on this remixed EP CD of four tracks from "Above & Below".
