Worst Case Ontario is:
Sam Weisberg (guitars, vocals)
John MacDonald (guitars)
Tim Perzan (drums)
Joe Grasso (bass)
The band was initially born on NYC-bred Sam Weisberg\'s drawling Fostex 4-track in a Japanese beetle-infested room somewhere in Oberlin, Ohio, in the fall of 2001. Sleepy yet overdriven, with a rawness that would shame Beat Happening, the resulting demo led to the formation of Gentle Ben Control Team, which performed its only gig that spring featuring then-scraggly guitarist John MacDonald on the SG.
In September 2003, Sam met bassist Tater Read at a private school teaching job, and was taught the art of listening to other people\'s ideas. Songs were then converted from mere east coast Jewish tirades into multi-layered, multi-regional swamp anthems. Drummer Drew Eastmead joined in late 2005 and helped cut most of the songs to lengths that would satisfy any ADD-ridden wall scratcher. MacDonald reemerged in the fall of 2006 from the dregs of Philly, with roughly 82 songs in his head and almost as many effects pedals to spare. The lineup recorded its first album, \"Burning Politely,\" between January and August 2007, guided gracefully by Gregg Rossetti and Rich Skibinsky of Suspyre.
After a bout of house cleaning, drummer Tim Perzan joined in late 2007 and bassist Joe Grasso joined in June 2008. Collectively, the band listens to Fugazi, My Morning Jacket, Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Husker Du, Replacements, Soundgarden, Meat Puppets, Dinosaur Jr, Guided by Voices, The Who, Spoon, Interpol, Tortoise and others that don\'t suck.
Worst Case Ontario has played all around NYC, most recently at Pianos, Luna Lounge, Arlene\'s Grocery, Knitting Factory Tap Bar and Siberia, and will be performing September 21 at Philadelphia\'s M Room.
