Album Notes

Woyee was born in Liberia, West Africa. He is a drummer, songwriter, singer and, a producer/arranger who has written songs for the groups Out of Africa and Kairos (USA) and has produced music for the Voice of Liberia Band. Woyee has also written music for the popular Liberian group based out of Rhode Island, The Moga Band.

Woyee has vast knowledge in live performace, recording and production having been involved in all three aspects of the music business both in the USA and Liberia.

In his native Liberia, Woyee was a founding member of the groups, Children of the Green Acres and Afarika Band. Woyee also played briefly with the groups The Gardners and Purple Haze, two bands that were popular around the Monrovia area.
In the USA, Woyee was a founding member of the local Twin Cities bands Kairos and Out of Africa.

The CD "Woyee" is his first solo project. Although this is his first solo CD, Woyee is no rookie. Like most artists with vast experience, he has been working behind the scenes
all these years.

Woyee now works and plays in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he and another Liberian musician have started a record company that specializes in African music with emphasis on Liberia.

Every song on this CD is great. One suggestion to Woyee is, Sir, please, please make a piece in one of our local Liberian dialects. Can anyone imagine how great that would be? Amazing! I heard that Gregory Isaac tone. wow! A Liberian Drummer, Songwriter, singer and a Producer/Arranger. Hummmmm Liberia is blessed.

My personal favorite song on the album would be Afircan Music. I think it blends a lot of the old African beats with new funk. It gives African music the kind of feel that appeals to everyone.

These songs had to be well thought of since the words to Time goes on, speaks directly to my total sense of existence. Don't waste time with trivials is an awesome message. The track Welcome, takes my mind back home and I and my family had a lot of fun listening and dancing to that. Overall, its a wonderful, well-thought-out and very thought-provoking album.
