This American quartet breathes the air of the Eighties, of a time that hard Rock bordering on Metal has had its big time. Operating in the classical line-up, WRECKING CREW transplant this sound into the here and now, with an up-to-date production and a really professional look.
The band uses two vocalists, one rougher and one more melodic voice, good effect. The sound itself is rather earthy and basic, no frills or complicated song-structure, but concentration on the essential.
Crunchy Rockers like "Crucify Me", "Writing On The Wall" or "Regrets" go hand in hand with good ballads like "Endlessly" or "Farewell" (with alternating vocals), where WRECKING CREW prove that they also master the emotional side of the music.
Also worth mentioning is the closing "Childhood Friends", a real fun-track, live recorded Be-Bop with funny lyrics, nice closer!
Timeless Rock/Metal of the American school of the Eighties, absolutely worth to be checked out!

Hard rock is alive and kicking
author: Brian Coles: Electric Basement
Remember when blistering, raw metal used to have fun when kicking ass? Yes, there is still those thrashy, meaner than Hell bands out there, but many forget that even straight up metal, when done right, is excellent tailgate party fare. Wrecking Crew has the essential elements that get the beer buzz moving through the veins, loosening the neck and ultimate causing that cocky head of yours to bang while a biker slut walks by your Ford pickup. The riffs are heavy, but tuneful. The vocals are distinct enough between tracks to retain musicality yet also have that guttural, one kegger too many charm. It isn't all fun and games. There's a solid, angst ridden epic in the title track that uses macho harmonies and distant jangly guitars to capture that oldschool Testament vibe. The band has an excellent sense of drama in their intros too. "Regrets", for instance, eases in with one of those AC/DC "Walk All Over You" teases and then chugs forth mightily. Top that off with a killer hook and you have real gem. On a side note, it's nice to hear the bass bounce around. Very analog and warm sounding at that. These guys have captured 1986 metal madness without the lame production and insincere knob twisting. Overall, a kick ass, but fun metal album. What more could anyone want? -Brian Coles

Melodic hard rock at its best!
author: Bill : Restless & Wild
"Hello World" - This looks and sounds excellent! The band did everything themselves, and they did a helluva job. What we have here is traditional 80's style metal with a touch of sleeze. Vocals are raspy and powerful, axework is very impressive, and the bass & drums fill in very nicely. So if you like crunchy, powerful sleezy metal, like I do, give these fine upstanding guys a try! You won't be sorry! Highly, highly, highly recommended!!!
