I was born in Utica, New York. A Minister’s Daughter.
I grew up singing in my Father’s Church.
My Mother was my first vocal coach.
I would accompany her to various churches
throughout New York State singing duet’s with her.
I took private lessons for voice and piano.
I sang in Chorus both in Elementary & High School.
Competing in All State Competitions in Upstate New York.
I would occasionally sing for Wedding & sometimes Funeral’s.
After High School I joined a band along with my Brother & Sister’s called
Breeze & Soul, we performed at various clubs,
Private parties & Military Base.
Moved to Connecticut to continue my studies in Hairdressing.
I decided to sing once again, worked with a couple of
Vocal coaches until I was able to access my vocal range again.
I then joined a local band called Saxcetric as the lead singer.
The repertoire was R&B & Smooth Jazz. We performed for various
clubs, private parties, corporate functions & weddings
throughout New England, house band for Café 880 Jazz Club.
Once the band broke up, I decided to do something different.
Focusing on the History of Jazz, performing music from the
thirties & forties I formed my own band (Distinguished Gentleman).
My repertoire consists of Jazz, R&B, Blues, Gospel and more.
Performing twice for the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival.
Szechuan Tokyo, Capri Diem, Sage American Bar & Grill, Amelia,
March of Dimes, New Britain Museum, Corporate functions,
Southbury Green Concert Series, private parties, and numerous
I have had the honor of working with the legendary
Jaimoe from the Alman Brothers Band on various occasions.
I now bring to you music from My Soul. Perhaps it will be
Soothing, Relaxing and even Therapeutic for your Soul as well.
