Album Notes

-Catfish on the Line is the second full-length studio album for Water Tower. The First Water Tower record:"The Squid and the Fiddle" (April 2008) @ Cdbaby.com/wtbb

*Hailing from Portland, Oregon, the Water Tower Bucket Boys perform their hard-driving, soul-saturated traditional and original music with tight vocal harmonies and energetic instrumentals. The energy from their lightning stage performances will literally plow through you as you are transcended to another place and time. The Water Tower Bucket Boys got their start busking on the street corners of Portland and enlivening local square dances. Honing their sound as a solid dance band, playing up and down the west coast, as well as in the east, the boys have perfected their unique style, drawing from classic bluegrass, old-time, and country songs. Their original repertoire, heavily influenced by blues and country, distinguishes them from other string bands. This one-of-a-kind sound has been influenced and shaped by almost every genre of American music. Just like the traditional songs, their originals works will take you on an entertaining roller-coaster of emotions, while still maintaining that “high-lonesome” integrity. Whether busking on the streets of downtown Portland or traveling around the world, their infectious love of the music spreads far and wide.

-"Catfish On The Line" is a swell mix of both traditional and original songs and tunes...we hope you enjoy it

The first time my ears were penetrated by the luscious, vibrant rhythms and harmonies that comprise the essence of the Water Tower Bucket Boys' sound, I was like a deer, struck by the hunter's bow--unable to resist the siren-like spell which Rabie's voice had cast over my soul. Like a scene right out of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, their rich harmonies reached into my very chest and ripped my still-beating heart from whence it came; caressing it with the delicate touch of an angel. Their finger-picking has the precision of a surgeon, and yet the boundless energy of a newborn baby calf. Should you choose to purchase this delightful collection of stories and tunes, you will not be disappointed.

I had the first record from Water Tower , but in this latest recording the boys have refined their sound and brought a delightful repertoire of original songs. This is quite an evolution from their previous album which was all traditional songs and tunes. This is pure down-hearted music for aficiando's of all ages and types. A must have album for anyone interested in Bluegrass/Folk/Country music.
