ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This was the first recording for John Wubbenhorst and his "Facing East" group. These compositions emerged from John's in depth study of classical Indian music and years of study with maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia, as well as his lifetime of eclectic musical adventures. Paul horn called this collection "A beautifully conceived and performed recording with a fresh new approach to East/West music.....John is a talent deserving wider recognition." The Washington Post said "It's a stunning virtuoso display of the bansuri flute and the compositions and arrangements are equally impressive."
This recording features 10 compositions by John with some great help from Sandip Burman-tabla, Zoltan Lantos-violin, Lawson Knight-sarod, Steve Zerlin-bass and others. John also plays keyboards and western flutes as well as the bansuri.
