Wuddha stands poised to make an indelible impression on the music world. In the spirit of R&B pioneers like Al Green, Stevie Wonder and D'Angelo, and electrified by some of the finest musicians on the West Coast, Wuddha fuses the vintage sounds of Motown with the pulse of modern soul.
In early Spring 2005, realizing that the moment was ripe to formally begin work on his debut professional release, Wuddha joined forces with John Bennett and many other up and coming west coast talents.. After months of extensive studio recording presently available is Welcome Home the first single from the upcoming debut album by this vibrant Soul singer, stunningly mixed by Russel “The Dragon” Elevado (D’Angelo, Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, The Roots).
Wuddha has developed into one of the most sought after new artists around the country. Take a moment to sample what Wuddha has stewing in his creative kitchen; you'll recognize a contemporary voice flavored by a unique history of influences. It's almost no surprise that this is the great-grand nephew of the most prolific blues songwriter of all time, Willie Dixon. Wuddha sings Love songs with a spirit all his own; the positive and distinct nature of the music engages people of all generations.

Treat 'Em Right - buy them this EP
author: Lovesexy Magazine
Dawud Raamah is a dentist by day. By nightfall, however, he heads to the nearest jazz club and gets his soul cape on as Wuddha. Then he defeats Captain Gangsta Rap with his special vocal powers and the world is again a beautiful place.
Seriously, I was fucking relieved to stumble across this EP after hours of trawling CD Baby. Hours, I tell you. “Please God, not another Game wannabe…”, I thought, as I random clicked Track 2, aptly titled Welcome Home. The room was filled with warm, deeply sexy grooves not a million miles away from the old school sounds of the Stylistics. Add a generous sprinkle of Musiq and we’re getting there, especially on the initial beats of EP opener‘Greet You’.
As I sit reading the production credits, I realise why there’s such an accomplished sound at work here. The man responsible for the bedspring-damaging Welcome Home is none other than Russell ‘Check me out I produced D’Angelo, Alicia Keys and Blackalicious’ Elevado. What’s more, Dawud is the great-grand nephew of legendary bluesman Willie Dixon, so there’s no shortage of talent in his blood.
Track 3, When the Love is Real, is the grower of the set. Third listen and I’m picking up the nuances in the beats and the pleasing flow of Wuddha’s vocals. There’s also a sexy spoken verse which adds some extra texture to the song; it’s the cherry on top. No, the subject matter isn’t original, but the lyrics are delivered in such a way that said lack of originality barely registers. After all, Love and Fear are the only two real options when talking about anything, and it’s finding new ways to talk about them that scores the brownie points.
Away from that somewhat pretentious interjection, there’s a summer barbecue laid-backness to the final track (think Anthony Hamilton on this one) Treat em Right, which ends the EP on a positive Woodstock note. Love your brothers and sisters, treat ‘em right. Buy them this EP. Amen.
