Wynn Erickson is a classically trained musician and keyboardist. He is the recipient of the Thalia All-Northwest Award in Composition. His work encompasses a wide variety of genres, showing influences of Folk, Rock, Jazz, Classical and Ethnic music. His pieces are melodic and have a strong emotional content due to the chordal structure, which is varied and unusual, often times surprising, and occasionally startling. His work shows rhythmic variety, and defies categorization. There is a feeling of history and romance in his music, along with a contemporary slant with an unique harmonic twist.
