"The more I listen to your CD. the more I love your material.Both your writing and your vocals remind me of Randy Newman, Billy Joel,and Tom Waits" - Barry Morrow, screenwriter, Rain Man Who am I? For many years I thought I was a singer songwriter. People said my songs sounded like Bob Dylan, or John Lennon, or Randy Newman. I performed at colleges and coffee houses. I was writing songs with Brian Holland of Holland-Dozier-Holland fame. (Brian was a Motown pioneer from Detroit and wrote the melodies for the songs of the Supremes including How Sweet it Is to be Loved by you, Standing in the Shadow of Love, and many other classics.) Then I started writing poetry and people said they were touched by my poems. They said my poetry reminded them of Kahlil Gibran or Rod Mckuen. But through it all, I never really experienced great success. I can look back and see that I was afraid of recognition, afraid of being in the limelight, afraid of the responsibility of being known. Plus, in spite of being very inspired, I was a nerd. Perhaps my high self was reserving me for other things. But starting about 6 years ago, I started sending my poems to different metaphysical magazine and they started publishing them. A couple asked me to write articles and I did. And then I discovered David Wilcock who made a case for being the reincarnation of the Western world's most recognized prophet/psychic. I studied Wilcock's site and became convinced that it was true and decided to write a book about it which was published in March of 2004 and receiving much acclaim. (www.caycesback.com) A few ministers have recognized it and at least one more liberal Unity church is doing a weekly study group on the book. Then during the period of time I was writing the book, my girlfriend started channeling and I was suddenly talking to what identified itself as the Council of Elohim, a group soul in another dimension. I was able to ask a multitude of questions about what's happening on the planet and received a huge amount of information as to what's happening from a celestial perspective. My sister was about to die and I asked them for their help and she suddenly had a miraculous healing. You can read more about this at www.conversationswithmygirlfriend.com. So what's all this have to do with music? The Elohim suggested that I record an album of my old songs and put it out, so here it is. I'm pretty pleased with the feeling and the way it sounds.
