Album Notes

This album is a very appealing, enjoyable collection of jazz/pop renditions of Christmas classic songs and some new, original holiday material. Christmas For Anyone? (which was recorded in 1997) brings together a terrific group of prominent, Japanese and international jazz musicians, to perform the nine Christmas/holiday songs here.

Rie Akagi, the renowned flute player, performs “White Christmas” and “Feliz Navidad.” Guitarist Hiroki Miyano performs “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Other highlights include “Sleigh Ride” (by pianist/saxophonist Makoto Aoyagi), “the Christmas Song” (written and performed by violinist Toshihiro Nakanishi), and “La La Lu” (by harmonica player Chikara Tsuzuki).
