Yaakov Chesed" is a tour def force in the Jewish rock scene. Based in Long Island, the band consists of Singer/Guitarist Jake Polansky, Bassist Dovi Soloman, Drummer Michael Moskowitz, and Michael Shapiro on Lead Guitar. The band formed in the Summer of 2006 and established itself quickly, playing dozens of shows in the Tri-State area, and in Georgia, where they have a strong following in Savannah.Yaakov Chesed's music mixes harmonic melodies, with rocking riffs, and funky drum beats. The bands name is derived from the daily Hebrew prayer "Teeten emet l'Yaakov chesed l'Avraham" ; Yaakov Chesed wishes to bring people into their tent of music with the truth of Yaakov, and the righteousness of Avraham. They are the 2007 Lander College Battle of the Band's Winners & The 2007 Yeshiva University BOTB winners!
