Album Notes

A product of the US public school system and hence geographically challenged, the Yard Dogs decided to name their fourth cd, "Are We in Canada Yet?" after venturing north from the southwest Florida swamps to record it live during their eleven day run at the Wisconsin State Fair in August of 2006. It features eleven original tunes wrtten by the members of the band which reflect their upbeat, offbeat, quirky outlook on a variety of life's situations. The two cover songs included in the recording maintain the party flavor of the entire cd.

A Yard Dogs performance is a party in process! Though its origin is the mangrove swamps of southwest Florida, their music blends elements of folk, country, bluegrass, blues, rock and roll and flavors it with a Cajun/Zydeco seasoning resulting in a genre they call Florida Swamp Music!

Take three guys from the swamps of Matlacha, Florida, give them a 6-string banjo, an accordion, and a homemade plywood rhumba box, and douse them liberally with beer! The result? Usually irreverent, often controversial, always entertaining music that brings joy to your heart, a smile to your face, and rhythym to your feet!

Join the party!

This CD is 10 plus! Love it!! Play it pretty much ever weekend to unwind. Listening to The Yard Dogs makes you really feel good about everything. They have the magic!! The Asshole song will make you laugh, and the Frozen Bones will make you cry. And the Good Ol' Days will make you feel a real appreciation and sensitivity towards our parents' generation.
