Album Notes

Yard Sale are three gals from Oakland, CA who play a thrift store mix of pop, folk, and country music on accordion, acoustic guitar and bass. All three members sing and write songs. Influences include the Carter Family, Nick Lowe, Dolly Parton and 1960's pop/folk/rock. Yard Sale invites you to a beer-fueled backyard musical BBQ, East Bay-style. Melanie De Giovanni (accordion) has played in such bands as the Catheads, Donner Party, Harm Farm, Barbara Manning, John Wesley Harding and Mare Winningham. She is also a legal secretary, mother of two, wife, and prize-winning pie baker. Jill Olson (bass) currently plays with Red Meat, was in the Movie Stars, and also played with John Wesley Harding and Mare Winningham. She also has two solo CDs and is working on a third. Jill is married to a helluva a guy--they have a dog, like to go to flea markets, read books, and laugh a lot. Denise Funari (guitar) has played with several East Bay folk combos and also performs solo. She is a champion gardener and a good gal to have in your corner.
