Upbeat sound, poor production- but good songs

This album is a mixed bag- on one hand youve got really nice flute solos, good song structure, spirited conga playing and beautiful chord voicing- but the production is poor, the harmonica sounds like it would be cool- if the playing itself werent so bad... also, while some song structure sounds good - often  the breaks are clunky- this group sounds like it has potential- but the album sounds like they werent quite there- would be interesting to see how the group has developed though- the material seems strong at its base.
