A nifty 2fer.
The Yardbirds recorded live in 1992 at the famed '100 Club' in London performing all the hits and a nice blues interlude with drummer Jim McCarty paying tribute to former Yardbird Eric Clapton with a rendering of 'Sitting On Top Of The World'.
Jim McCarty-drums
Chris Dreja-rhythm guitar
John Idan-vocals/lead guitar
Rod Demick-bass/harp
"You can hear the power and excitment explode, YES EXPLODE, from the speakers!" Dave Thompson-Goldmine Magazine

'Burning Snow' captures 'The Downliners Sect' in a blazing R&B set orignally heard broadcast over Radio Sweden.
"Few Bands can still get up there 35 or 40 years after their heyday, but The Downliners Sect still get the job done-with plenty of Sect Appeal to boot" Mike Stax, Ugly Things Magazine
Of all the British R&B bands to follow the Rolling Stones' footsteps, the Downliners Sect were arguably the rawest. The Sect didn't as much interpret the sound of Chess Records as attack it, with a finesse that made the Pretty Things seem positively suave in comparison!
Both of these albums have been available before but never on the same disc and at this very reasonable price. The Yardbirds material is taken from the now out of print 'Yardbirds Reunion Jam' released in 1999.
CD ships in a plain white paper sleeve to keep prices low.
Also available as a digital download. Napster, iTunes, MusicMatch and many others. Just search for 'Downliners Sect'

The Yardbirds are my favorite British Invasion band...and I have seen the "new" incarnations a few times here in California. The Downliners Sect are growing on me and though I never had recordings by them before. I discovered them thru Russ....enjoy their live stuff alot.

This is a great CD full of memories. I grew up listening to the Yardbirds and although I think there is only one original member here, the sound is great and something you don't hear very often in this digital world. I also recommend the Vinyl Kings and the Jangles sold here at CD Baby.
