Album Notes

What others have said about "We Will Be A Factory:"

"The band has a muted pop edge, catchy, yet somber, which is thoroughly dramatic and compelling. Many of the songs, "Standing in the Cold" and "Handful of Pennies" in particular, rush forward with a sense of urgency reminiscent of early U2 tracks."

"This is one of the best albums to come out of Eugene in a long time" Ryan Nyburg, Oregon Daily Emerald, May 26th, 2005

Yeltsin is a rock band from Eugene, OR that has been in existence for about two years. In that time they recorded a well received EP/Demo and, in June 05 released their first full-length album "We Will Be A Factory." Yeltsin has performed with the likes of bands such as The Wrens, The French Kicks, Menomena, Talk Demonic, Dios, Irving and The Cherry Poppin Daddies.

Jacob Pavlak plays guitar and has played with other bands such as Heavenly Oceans, Buckhorn and 100% Chips. Jivan Valpey plays drums and has played with every band in Eugene including Pass Out Kings, Los Mex Pistols del Norte, White Hot Odyssey and etc. Dana Axon plays bass with Buckhorn as well.

What others have said about Yeltsin:

"Yeltsin's music is catchy, skillfully executed and satisfying... Stylistically the Eugene three-piece reminds me of the Pixies, which never sucks, and their dramatic guitar parts are right on."
Portland Mercury 12/11/03

"The 17 short minutes of music on this EP feels like a polished, pristine version of every good demo I've heard this past year. It's like a distillation of all that is worthwhile in modern musical trends." Oregon Daily Emerald 1/15/04

"Yeltsin's sound is minimal yet potent and has a hint of darkness, built around the fundamental rock foundations of guitar, bass, drums and vocals." The Oregonian 2/13/04

"Russia might be in trouble, but Yeltsin is strong."
Willamette Week 12/17/03

"The band played that urgent music that vibrates your table and hums through your body, making you feel good and young and a little wild. Eugene Weekly 11/13/03

"Yeltsin performs rock and pop in the vein of The Pixies or Pavement with catchy melodies and smart lyrics." Eugene Weekly 9/25/03
