notes
A 12-course breakfast of soulful, retro pop -- if you like Jamiroquai, Beck, Lenny Kravitz, or Mr. Stevie Wonder back in the day, you need to listen to these songs now. Deeply funky, seriously feel-good, and high in cholesterol.
"It takes some daring to pump out a heavy dance-groove, funk inflected CD in this era of teenage DJ metal groups. It's even more impressive when a band battles the groove police head on with a tactical triumph. NYC-based Yes Virginia reminds me of George Clinton joining forces with The Brand New Heavies and letting the Dust Brothers mix it all up. Quite frankly, these guys (and girl) have more soul in them than most, and their cleverly composed tunes can do everything from guiding you up into a good mood to driving the party into the late night hours. Are you serious about gettin' down? So is Yes Virginia, and as wah-guitar, giddy keyboards and one mean-ass bass line deliver, you'll be unconsciously caught up in all the ruckus. If your record collection includes labels like Motown, Moonshine and Ideal, here's another number that shouldn't be passed up."

Put Simply..Delicious Funk.
author: Eric Goldstein / AtlantaA long-time fan of the band (and the bands previous history as Random House of Soul), i was anxious to hear the complete CD of Overeasy. It does not dissapoint. A must have for super-pop and funk fans.
Most people need to have this record
author: leedogFrom the first time I heard Matt Stone and his partners in crime, they were all about bringing together all of the elements of the music I love, and making the combination into something irresistible, to both the ears and the feet. I'm much more than delighted to hear the evolution of that sound and that vibe. Air-tight grooves, Tasty tones, Candy for your head!!! Yes Virginia, you make it sound over easy!!
Tasty musical treat
author: Special CKudos to Yes Virginia for the sweetest kind of music-- soulful vocals, funky clavs, soaring hammonds, thumpin', poppin', chromatically-creepin' bass lines-- all of the musicianship and songwriting is first-class. I can sense that these guys are all masters of their instruments and loving every minute of it.
Ok, so I'm only a kid, I can still tell how great they are!
author: Claire RaphaelsonI first found these guys in the local Starbucks. Then I went to their site to find out more about them. I went to see them again. I bought their CD....one of the smartest purchases I've ever made. I've become a true groupie, but for the best reasons. Bennet, Matt and Jamie are such total musical geniuses!
Fun for the whole family
author: G-ryFun for the car, fun for a party. . . this is good tome music, baby! This great-sounding record, features quality writing, playing and singing extracted from the tradition of Sly, Stevie and GCS. But it goes beyond regurgitation, otherwise, whhy should you care. Me and the wife have been giving this record as a gift, which means we've bought more than 3 copies. An endorsement? I'd say so.
Sly, Stevie, Larry Graham, Steely Dan & Prince -- all in one!
author: M. RyanI can't remember the last time I have listened to one CD so constantly! Easy to groove to, fun and funky, and is certain to have wide-spread, varied appeal. The pure sound of the album alone is fresh - everything else is the icing on the cake. (I'm partial to Deedee Wants to Come Over. Love that song!)
Jamming!
author: Allison JosephWhat a find. This group sounds like its members listened to a lot of Steely Dan and 70's Motown--like they're channeling Billy Preston. Great musicianship! Infectious grooves, clever lyrics!
REMARKABLE
author: KjmAn unbelievable, new incarnation of the spirit of classic, soulful funk. Yes Virginia has come out with an amazing CD that I keep playing again and again. Amazing, fun, and more than worth it. When's the concert?
