Album Notes

The Moviegoers is the band you might enjoy if you looked through all of your CDs and you didn't want to listen to any of them. Instead you wanted to listen to something that sounded a little like all of them, but recorded through less expensive microphones.

Three of us met in New York. We were living in New Orleans, working on music, but our town got flooded. We have moved to California and plan to keep working on new stuff.

The bands that we like are you know, the really good stuff, rock, indie, and soul. Beatles, Kinks, Pavement, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Pixies, Philip Glass, TV on the Radio, Sufjan Stevens, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Al Green, Steve Reich, and Alvin Lucier. To presume that any of these people have actually found their way into our music seems a little pretentious. And we would know.

PS-We recently changed our name from "Your Future in Plastics" to "The Moviegoers" sorry for the confusion!!!
