Album Notes

This album contains songs I wrote for my kids when they were growing up. We lived in Phoenix, Arizona, by South Mountain within the citrus groves, by the San Francisco Xavier Mission. The irrigation canal ran by our little house. At night, after dinner, we'd make a small fire outside, and sit around singing songs and playing music together. I played guitar, and my boys played the tub bass and the jug. They wouldn't let me sing my own grown up songs. They'd only let me play my guitar if I sang about the dog or Batman and Robin. So that's how these songs came about. We still get together now and then when we camp out, and sing like crickets again under the starry night sky.
