ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
My name is Yolanda R. I love to sing and hope to provide you with listening pleasure. I am a soulful artist and my aim is to honestly express myself through my vision of musical creativity.

My favorite musical style is R&B but I can spin a Jazz, Pop & Gospel tune quite well too! I love singing ballads and any type of song where I can weave a sort of tapestry.

I graduated as a Vocal Major from LaGuardia High School of Music and the Arts (aka the "Fame" school) and earned a voice scholarship at Harlem School of the Arts. My musical training is a combination of Classical Voice instruction, studies at local NYC private music schools, and live performances.

Despite my love of, and passion for singing , I have strayed from my calling on more than one occasion. After meeting with many failures and internal fears, I had decided that I wasn't "cut out" to be a singer. It has taken me many years to understand the words of motivational speaker Les Brown "I will fail my way to success." We have to make A LOT of mistakes before we get it right. And Dion Jordan is a motivational speaker who has impacted me the most in my life. He said " I may not be the best [singer] __ (fill in your blank), but I have the potential to get better."

Music is life. For me, this is literally true. After years of hiding my desire and talent, I began to feel like I was slowly dying inside. This single is the beginning of my rebirth. Please join me on my journey to "get better" and fulfill my destiny of being the best singer I can be. I hope to add some delight to your life and add to your life experience. Enjoy!
