The release of Sacred Path Songs on Compact Disc is long overdue but well worth the wait.

The beautiful companion music for best selling author Jamie Sams 1990 Sacred Path Cards was created by ex-Byrd John York, to pay homage to the special power of Native American spirituality.
The Singer/songwriter/instrumentalist and composer has successfully found a way to communicate his personal approach to this mystic world into something universal, via a truly moving musical soundtrack, for the most part without the necessity of words. Aside from Jamie Sams invocation which opens the album and the haunting "Just One Arrow", a song written and sung by York that is reminiscent of material the Byrds might have recorded, which closes it, this world class musician weaves his magic with moving, mainly instrumental tracks.

York uses traditional Native American instruments to help bridge the worlds of ancient Native American wisdom and modern Western Civilization in this fascinating musical look at a philosophy that centers around the oneness of all creatures with Mother Nature.
