Yoshinobu Takeda ... a boy from Lion Street
Yoshinobu Takeda aka Takezo was born in Kagawa, Japan and grew up in Kyoto. Takezo started singing and composing music at the age of 12. Among his earliest influences were american movie soundtracks,The Beatles and Otis Redding.
His instincts brought him to San Francisco, California in 1985 to pursue a career in music. Since then, he has performed as a Blues and R&B singer/guitar player throughout the Bay Area and has toured across the United States and Canada.
While known as a Blues/R&B musician, Takezo felt that he needed to put together a recording of some of the songs he was writing that could not easily be categorized.Combining Japanese music with American roots music, Takezo has put together the songs that make up this album ... "a boy from Lion Street." Lion Street is the street he was brought up on and still holds an important place in his heart.
